Alumni - Where Are They Now?

John Cordero

John, President of CASB as a student and Events Coordinator for China Night,  continued to use the experience he had gained at Stony Brook in his professional career after graduation.  Now the Executive Vice President for Business Development at Integrated Marketing Services of NY, John is in charge of planning and coordinating national promotional tours for everything from the latest boy bands to health screenings for major pharmaceutical corporations.  And less fun but more serious, John has done the same for things like a national children's diabetes clinical trial. 

Here's John enjoying himself on a trip out to Colorado.  One of the side benefits of his position is that he gets to travel throughout the United States and Great Britain.  The latter he gets to do because he set up an international division in his company to get business contracts from outside the US.  It's a rapidly expanding part of the business and John hopes to expand to other parts of world within the coming year.

John still stays involved in Stony Brook - he's co-chair of the first Asian American Alumni Reunion and on the Board of [AA]²@SBU, the Asian American Alumni Association.  The reunion has been delayed by the construction of the Wang Center, but with the grand opening now scheduled for the Fall of 2002, it looks like a go for the reunion in Spring 2003.  Check out the original plans at the Reunion website.
