Summertime Wears:
Shoes for the Savvy Shopper

Summer has made its mark with this week’s steamy weather, which means it’s that time of year when the flip-flops and the tank tops make their triumphant return! 

But let’s just say you don’t do flip-flops for some reason – like myself, for instance - because I insist on the extra oomph (and height) that heels provide.  Or perhaps your feet simply won’t agree with the strain flip-flops can put in that teeny skin between your big toe and second toe.   

Fret not, my fashion-forward friends.  There’s a new flock of hip and comfy sandals out this season, with more variety than a rack at H&M’s.   

Steve Madden’s showing off his new line of summer footwear, but my favorite is his Gore sandal, which combines comfort and style, what with the two-inch sabrina heel and all.  Ladies, take note – this one won’t be around too long.  Check it out at www.stevemadden.com.  

The natural-colored wedge sandal is another trend that’s been spotted on fashion-conscious divas as well.  Think 70’s.  Look to old episodes of Three’s Company or Charlie’s Angels for reference.   Or, click on over to www.girlshop.com, where the shoe selection is heavenly. 

Got a clueless boyfriend who needs to tap into his inner diva?  Surprise him with a sleek pair of leather slides, which are great at Aldo’s.  Look for the ones with a single, wide band of leather.  My guy (after I hid his basketball sneaks), discovered he loves them!
