Brookhaven Town Council
BACKGROUND. Also running on the
Independence & Working Families lines.
Fiore-Rosenfeld, 37, was chief of staff and counsel for Assemblyperson
Steve Englebright (D-Setauket) before being elected in 2003 to the
Brookhaven Town Council. It was the first election that broke the Council
into districts rather than at-large seats which heavily favored
Republicans.
Politically active since his student days at Stony Brook University,
where he helped organize a campaign to allow students to register to
vote at their college addresses, Fiore-Rosenfeld worked for NYPIRG,
the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was a member of
the legal team in the Brookhaven campaign for council districts.
