Jeffrey Eng
SBU Junior
July 27, 1985 - May 4, 2006

Jeffrey Eng, an SBU undergraduate in his 3rd year, was killed in a car accident on Thursday, May 4th. While driving north on Nichol's Road at about 2a.m. he lost control of his vehicle, a 2006 Honda Accord. The car overturned at least two times and ended in a ravine. There were no other passengers in the car.

Jeff was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with severe head injuries and internal bleeding. He passed away at 6:40 a.m.

A graduate of Brooklyn Tech, he was an Environmental Sciences major at Stony Brook with a Poli Sci minor. His parents live in Brooklyn.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, 5/11, from 3 - 7pm in Chinatown at 26 Mulberry Street, and Friday morning from 9:30 - 11:30am followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery.

Jeff's friends have been writing messages on his Facebook wall, remembering the person he was, and the good times they had with him at Tech and at Stony.

... you were one of a kind Jeffrey...you will be missed man...I know you're having a grand ol time up there

Rest in peace, Jeff. I will remember the newspaper room days in Tech as well as those times that we hanged out to shoot pool.

Jeff, Jeff , jeff, what can I say...thanks for always being there for me when I was down and out and needed help, thanks for always putting a smile on face, but most of all...thanks for being the best friend a guy can ask for. I'll always remember our spring break trip to Riverhead, and the trip to China Town, and our trip to the movies where we only spent two minutes then decided not to go (shortest movie ever). Jeff, even tho ure gone...ure always with us in our hearts, and memories, and until we see u again, that will be enough, and once again, thanks for being such a true friend, you will be missed greatly...

hey man...i dunno what to say. I can't believe that you're gone. Part of me still doesnt accept it. You were always there, i prob spent the most time this year with you...whenever i needed to talk to someone, get advice on things, everything.

it wont be easy not having you around. you had an impact on my life as well as many others...[friends name] was tellin me when ppl were saying how sorry they were, but honestly, the only reason they should be sorry is because they didnt know him...its true...u had that impact on people.

There's so much I want to say, but I don't even know where to begin. I'm so lucky to have had a friend like you. It's so hard to believe that you're gone. We're gonna miss you...

The only thing we can do is remember you and treasure al those good times that we've shared over the years. I just hope that you're happy and safe...

Jeff, it's hard to believe your gone...
You were always a kind and caring soul who put others before himself, was serious and fun, and a man among men.

The memories we shared in your freshman year(03-04) in Delta (Dreiser 112), and in the years after. From that first weekend that you claimed not to remember, to all the adventures we had subsequently... these are things that will never be forgotten.

You will forever live in the hearts and minds of those who cared about you.

Rest in peace, little brother.

Suffolk County Police are still investigating the accident. Anyone with information should call Suffolk police detectives at 631-854-8652.
