WELCOME BACK!

We're overwhelmed and we don't deny it! Constant meetings, learning everything about the Dean's proposal to disband the AAAS Department, what other schools do, and PHEIAA in order to talk knowledgeably to President Stanley, plus covering opening events, Club Fair, running Freshmen and Cab 2 Cab Socials, not to mention classes and trying not to fall behind before we've begun, we're already burnt out! But this will be an important semester so be prepared for lots to come!

SOS DISTRESS CALL!

SAVE ASIAN & ASIAN AM STUDIES!

CAS Dean Squires met with Department Chairs and said, "Goodbye Asian and Asian Am Studies." Students will have to go to multiple departments to complete the major. Some faculty may lose their positions. We're screwing you but don't worry, we'll tell the students it's all good - they'll still be getting the same thing just in a different way - and they'll never understand until it's too late. When questioned, President Stanley said 'Well, its still in the proposal stage.' Somehow, when you have already laid off the office staff effective Fall 2011, 'proposal' doesn't ring very true. So before it is too late, ask President Stanley and Dean Squires why an administration of all old white folks thinks it knows why disbanding AAAS is better for the future of all students at the University as we enter "The Asian Century". Read it all here!
