OP ED: WANG A/AC RACISM

Please click here to read the letter Asian and Asian American club Presidents sent to President Stanley expressing their opposition to the Toll Drive dorms and asking to meet with him to discuss it. He ignored them.

Then-student Melanie Tiongson said the dorms were "like a slap in the face to my culture" and reminiscent of the days when people of color like her were "shafted for the benefit of something allegedly 'greater.'"

On this vast campus where 6-story dorms could have been built in many empty spaces, instead, an all-White building committee, never thinking of the consequences, chose directly behind Wang AAC.

Movie Review: Front Cover
by Demi Guo, SB Press

"In truth, the story was not meant only to
enrapture audiences at queer film festivals,
as it has, or even audiences at Asian American
film festivals, as it also has - those are only
the perspectives from within the fishbowl. The
view from outside - of the sand, the glass,
the fish - make the greater picture,
Yeung said, of self-acceptance."
"Five years of writing, funding, shooting and
editing led to this movie... It is now lined up for
Netflix in the fall. It is a carefully manicured
gem that tells an often overlooked story, and it
is made so much more precious because of it."
